Now it’s time to test Lay The Place written by Paul Fowlie which is another system by Sportsworld Publishing. I have been using this system for a month now on and off and have got some very good results. Therefore I decided to give it to one of my testers who will post at least 1 month results of Lay The Place.

What is included in Lay The Place by Paul Fowlie

This is a very easy system which anyone can use. You don’t need to spend hours studying form, or worry about loss retrieval staking plans. This system is so easy that all the rules are summed up on 1 page. Anyone can find out to use these simple rules and go through the racing card to find potential races to bet in. You Download Lay The Place and can start using it the very same day.

The idea behind the system is to lay 2 horses on the place market in the same race. Of course you can’t do it in every race for a profit, and that is where the very easy selection process comes into place.

The results quoted for Lay The Place looks very impressive and with the ease of the system in mind this could be a real winner if the results continue.

I will post the results for at least 1 month underneath so we can see if this system continues to perform very well :-)

If anyone has tried Lay The Place already then please “leave a comment” and say what you think :-)

UPDATED 24th September Lay The Place Review

The test has now come to an end and the results has not been very good. I think this system simply is too simple to give any value in the bets and therefore it will lose you money long term. It will go in NOT RECOMMENDED folder since I think this test has shown what the results will normally be. Don’t spend your money on this system, there are better systems out there :-)

See the test results underneath:

    Hi

A couple of questions…..can these bets be placed before one goes to work, as my company blocks access to Betfair.
If not…..can this system be used for evening races and weekends instead?

    Thanks

  2. admin on August 5th, 2008 7:07 am

    Hi Steve,

According to the system rules you should place the bets just before race start so you can olny use them on evening races plus weekends if you are not at the computer during the day.

However, I think that you could test how it goes placing the bets in the morning. The only problem is non runners, I don’t know how much it will affect the results but you can try it and then compare it to the results we get when we start the test very soon.

    Hi,

    Congratulation for the blog!

Well, maybe we can program a bot to place these bets before race starts!

I am currently searching for one..

    Hi,

I´m testing this system now for a few weeks. And yes, I´m using a bot for this and I´m using this with a few small modifications.

This system was tested on 2 other System Review pages and was recommended. But the results are very different between the sites and my own. So I think the basic idea is good, but you must find your own way to place the bets (time and races).

My result with 50€ stake after 18 days betting 52 races is +411.93€ (after commission). My test will go on until the end of the year.

    Cheers
    Frank

  14. hardik on August 8th, 2008 9:52 pm

    Hi Frank,

I also use Greyhorsebot but my point is how do you set laiability option as your total liability should be lower than recommended by the author? I am sure that greyhorsebot doesnt have that option.

    Hardik

  15. Frank on August 8th, 2008 10:44 pm

    Hi Hardik,

this is no problem for the bot. I think there are a lot of settings on the bot and most of people doesn´t understand this flood of settings correctly. Give me your mail adress and we can discuss the settings on this way.

“The system results that we are publishing are unfortunately limited to the last 4 months even though the system has been operated for seventeen months as a backup mistake lost some data.”

Alarm bells are ringing here. It’ll be especially interesting to see if your results tally with his claims.

    hi north.

Can someone clarify the results above. Is this a 621 loss or profit?

  20. admin on September 5th, 2008 7:48 am

    That is a loss :-(

  21. Dave on September 5th, 2008 3:38 pm

The results the author gives do no not factor in commission, and since you must bet on 2 horses in every race and theres more often than not a losing one, theres a hell of a lot of comission to be taken off.
To work out comission you must take £5 from evry single losing horse if using £100 stakes, you can NOT just take off 5% of the total at the end of the month as this shows no were near the amount of comission that has to be removed.

As a results, lay the place makes no were near the profits claimed, nor does stat attack or curse of the handicapper as not only do there systems never factor in comission they use SP odds, and with curse of the handcapper there often 20% over SP odds.

They do make profits as far as i can tell but not profits claimed.

I bought a system yesterday called Michaels place lay formula, and was pleasently suprised that i also got a link to a page were he gives u the exact races and a guide as to why it was or wasnt a bet, and sofar it all seems sound. The profits are phenomenal to say the least even to level stakes which i will use.

Perhaps horse racing man would like to get hold of ot for a trial, google michaels place lay formula you wil find it. It does involve being at pc for every possible race thogh and you cannot use a bot.

I myself also run a place laying service that uses greyhorse bot but i wont mention it as this could be interpreted as spam I suppose :(

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for input :-)

I will look at the system you recommend.

If you want me to trial your place laying service where I can use greyhorse bot then send me an email so we can discuss that further :-)

  23. Harish on September 5th, 2008 5:03 pm

    Hi Dave,

I am takign the comission off per winner not like at the end of the month all the results shows with deduction of 5% comission. I have all the detail results, i am using Greyhorse bot just to get live odds. If anybody wants detail selection here my email id ia hvataliya@googlemail.com.
