Follow The Fortune Review

The new system we are going to review is called Follow the Fortune published by Sportsworld and is written by someone called Roger Purssord.
The first word of warning about this system, is that the person who wishes to use the system during the day, needs to be very pro-active in that the act of deciding whether horses finally become horses to be traded on the exchange, takes place in the final few minutes before the off.
Some analysis can take place earlier in the day to filter out some of the day’s races.
Once the criteria has been met, during those final few minutes prior to the race, then Follow The Fortune tells us to BACK one of the horses in the race and LAY another horse in the same race.
A maximum price of 9.80 is put on the LAY trade. Note that if the LAY trade does not go on, then neither does the BACK trade and vice versa.
The staking plan is that one third of your unit stake is placed on the BACK trade and two thirds of your unit stake is placed on the LAY trade.
Since Follow The Fortune uses price analysis based on the prices being traded three minutes before the start of the race, there is a lot of subjectiveness regarding the selections and prices at which we could be trading at.
So for the purpose of this exercise, ALL analysis will be based on the BetFair SP. This will obviously result in potentially different results from the Author’s published results but we really do need to have a consistent method of selecting the criteria and prices of our selections.
When the criteria has been hit, we will be BACKING ONE point on the horse that meets the BACK criteria and LAYING TWO points on the horse that meets the LAY criteria.
A 5% commission reduction will be applied to our winnings.
This could turn out to be a bit complicated but we will see how it goes.
All being well, on a nightly basis the results will be reported in as much detail as possible.
As a footnote it appears that the author does vary the bets in a pro-active way. e.g. If there are 4 or 5 LAYS that win in a row, the stakes are reduced. Also, the first lay of the day is at a reduced stake. These variable stakes are not very scientific. For the purpose of our exercise we will take the scientific approach of staking at a consistent stake. i.e. ONE Point for the BACK trades and TWO Points for the LAY trades.

It was a bit worrying that today’s two big losses in the Plumpton 14:30 and the Plumpton 16:00 did NOT appear in the author’s results.
The comment on the website regarding the 14:30 race was that at 5 minutes before the race the criteria was not met and therefore no bets were placed. Difficult to really judge whether that was the case or not. All I can say is that the criteria was met using the BetFair SP’s.
The comment for the 16:00 race was that the prices were too close in a small field. Now that certainly was not the case and I don’t regard 7 runners a small field since the criteria is that there has to be at least 5 runners for the race to be considered.

Summary:
Unfortunately, I think we will have to stop this review.
It is impossible to obtain the same results as the author. A good example was the last race at Carlisle where the horse Nuts N Bolts was trading at 3.80 with 5 minutes before the off and therefore was NOT a LAY selection. However in those last 5 minutes leading up to the start, the horse drifted out to obtain a BetFair SP of 9.16 which made it a LAY trade for the system.
The author advocats that the trades need to be placed 5 minutes before the start of the race, however, so much happens in those last 5 minutes that it becomes much too subjective in deciding whether the criteria has been met for the trades to go ahead.
As for the system itself, a lot of hard work is required in judging whether the odds are correct for the trades to go ahead. So be warned that if you do decide to go ahead and use the system, you will have to be prepared to put some effort in.
When are you going to start ?
I haven’t got this system but from what I have read it is entirely dependant on the prices showing on Betfair at 5 minutes before the off time, therefore it seems to me by doing it at BF SP you are checking out a different system.
Well this is from Sportsworld and I think most of us know what to expect. The sales page is always massive profits and when it comes to testing it…well thats a different story. There seems to be always some excuse for poor performance when testing live.
God when are you all going to realise that ALL Sportsworld systems are shameless nonsense? Keep your cash in your pocket and if you must, stick a pin in the racecard and choose to back or lay that nag. It can’t work any worse than Sportsworld systems!
Yet another Sportsworld system based on following steamers. Good luck with the latest one since there has been about 4 other backing steamer systems from them in the past.
Backing steamers can work if you are very selective. Noticed one that qualified yesterday. 3.05 Southwell – Royal Dignitary. In the last 10 min steamed in from 3rd to 1st fav (4.5 down to 2.8) and a few seconds after the off massive amounts of money forced the in running price down to 2.2. However you go crazy from boredom waiting for horses like this to come along since they only happen about twice a week.

I know what you are saying and you are absolutely correct, however we need some rules which are rigid and NOT open to interpretation……
i have been using this system for over a month and went for the auto option so purchased the bot and the tips. I go to work, come home and simply check my betfair account which usually has increased. After three months you get the system anyway but i will continue with the auto system as i work full time so its great for me…..
so far a cracking system make lots of money…and maybe will get me out of the full time job…. all the results are there for you to see.. Roger is a genuine hard working honest man. communication is excellent I cannot fault Roger or this system
Strange results you showing in here, why don’t show p/l for lays/backs seperated?
I’ve bought this system and have been running it for just two days. It does require a bit of work but as I’ve got the time I don’t mind. It’s critical to look at the prices exactly 5 minutes before the race, then make your decision to bet or no bet. I have made a profit on each of the last 2 days and am in profit today so far
Cashmaster has just finished is test of this and it seems to have picked up.
78 pts in 30 days on the lays and 8 pts on the backs.
Can anyone else vouch for the impressive results lately or are they made to look good on Cashmasters blog?

I am into betting on horses for over 3 years now… in that timespan i came across 2 Systems that where long term Profitable to either ISP or BFSP.
HINT: THEY WHERE NOT FROM SPORTSWORLD !!
