Curse of the handicapper Review

Now it’s time to look at one more system by Paul Fowlie which also has made Lay The Place. Curse of the Handicapper is his new system which claims £190 a day profit for the last 210 days and it should be quite easy and fast to operate.
What is included in Curse of the handicapper
You don’t get any fancy book with a lot of material in it. All you get is the few system rules and then the results from 2008. The system is very easy to operate and does not require lots of form studying, identifying drifters and so on. It is so easy that a small child could do it every day using only few minutes.
There are 5 rules to follow with curse of the handicapper and they are all pretty simple and straightforward.

We are going to test Curse of the handicapper for at least 1 month. But my first impression are that I won’t use real money with this system. It seems too simple and throw up too many selections for me to believe that it will work long term. Another thing that i’m disappointed about is that they don’t quote their results at Betfair SP. As usual with many lay systems they use regular SP prices when they show their profits. The reason is simply because the regular SP prices are much lower than the Betfair prices you can actually lay at which makes the profit look very much higher than it is.
If Paul Fowlie had actually used Curse of the Handicapper system to generate these kind of results he would be able to supply real Betfair odds, NO system maker who is actually using a lay system record results at regular SP prices since you can’t lay at these prices.
To be fair the prices you lay at are maximum 11/2 so the Batfair prices are not very much higher than SP prices on track. Another positive thing is that the results are at level stakes - NO fancy staking plan used to generate the results.
Let’s see how it goes when we put Curse of The Handicapper to the test at real Betfair prices!!
UPDATE 23rd September: We have decided to stop the test now after having tested it for some time. As you can see there are lots of selections every day so this system will be popular by many punters who like some action. However, the problem is that there can’t be very much value in laying so many horses each day and I’m quite sure that this system won’t make you money long term. However, it’s not a bad start to build a system around. You could use the methods in this system and find the selections and then narrow the selections down to the 2-3 horses that has the biggest chance of losing by using Racing Secrets Exposed.
However, I neeed to review the system based on the performance during the test and what I thnk about the rules. Therefore this system will also go in NOT RECOMMENDED folder since I don’t think it will win money long term based on the many selections it throws up (you simply pay too much commission and there can’t be very much value with so many bets based on very simple rules). It was close to getting in Neutral since I think it can be used as the basis for a Lay System where you are more selective.

I think this is another simple backtested system. The rules are simple and it looks like a 50:50 chance. There are 10 system every week without any real system or logical behind.
Now 3 sites are testing this system. With a little bit of luck, this month is a good one and many people buy this system. Next month or sometimes later it turns in a big loosing month and nobody talks about this system.
But until this point, I´m sure, the author give us another 1 to 5 systems with the same things but a new name.

I disagree with the above comments. The results that come with The Curse are all the more impressive as in January the p/l went heavily negative. Most people would surely have given up before the end of the month. I started on August 4th and am up over 40 points. It’s the first time a system has worked for me…..
I have even started my own variation of The Curse, to hopefully improve the profitability of what is a well researched (and not backtested) statistical method.
I am also using 2 other profitable Paul Fowlie systems. He is also very approachable and I have had quite a lot of e-mail contact with him.

Hi Admin,
I have just confirmed that there was an error in selection on 27th Aug, updated the results.
I am using Greyhorsebot to place the bet just 1 min before the off so its not necessary to mach results with everyone. I suggest anyone would like to match results with me just place bet within 1 min from off either manualy or using any Betting bot.
Due to price movement there are chances to miss any of the selection if their odds are around 6.5
I can even increase the time to monitor market and might get more winners or losers.
I am happy to confirm my selections if anyoneelse is testing system, just send me your selections at hvataliya@googlemail.com.
I am still happy to see that the system is in profit as everyone want profitable system.
